The name Floraïku comes from the union of two terms "flora" and "haïku": "flora", to greet flora (a collection of plants in an environment) and, by extension, nature, the expression of plant and floral beauty, and "haïku", from a love of a very short and intense poetic form in three lines, traditional in Japanese literature, often linked to the rhythm of the seasons, nature, the movement of life and its manifestations. Floraïku Paris perfumes are composed in the same way, around a short formula honoring precious natural ingredients.
Floraïku Paris is a French perfume house, passionate about Asian culture and its sense of refinement, which uses its olfactory knowledge to create unique fragrances. The brand's co-founder, Clara Molloy, is also a poet. She writes these little verse poems and the fragrances are named after haiku poems.
This innovative fragrance brand boasts over 30 creations. The first edition was launched in 2017, and the brand continues to release new fragrances, including the latest editions from 2024.
To create unique fragrances, Floraïku Paris combines admiration for Asian culture and its sense of refinement with that olfactory savoir-faire of French perfumery. The fragrances are named after haiku, which give impetus to each composition and celebrate the beauty of each moment: a sunrise, the arrival of spring, a budding love, etc.
The Floraïku Paris collections pay homage to the majesty of nature and the rituals it inspires, referring to ceremonies specific to Asian culture, around teas, incense and flowers.
The first collection, Secret Teas and Spices, is inspired by the Ô Cha ceremony. A Japanese ritual tea preparation, it ranges from inviting guests, to brewing the tea, to presenting and tasting it. In the same way, Floraïku Paris gives its perfumes an authentic olfactory ceremony. This collection reinterprets different teas with a unique blend of spices.
The Shadowing collection is composed of two fragrances, Sleeping on the Roof and Between two Trees: each designed to further reveal the Floraïku Paris fragrance of your choice when applied side by side. Like a light shadow (Sleeping on the Roof) or a dark one (Between two Trees), it accompanies you, giving another dimension to your fragrance.
Clara and John Molloy founded Floraïku Paris in 2017. A trip to Japan, an encounter with a culture and an approach to nature so delicate and respectful - resonating right down to literature and the arts - convinced them to start a new brand after Memo Paris, created in 2007. Their experience, combined with this desire to unite different voices, from Paris, the cradle of perfume design, to Asia, the heart of refinement, won them over. A similar openness to the world: she - born in Paris, a lover of literature, herself a poet, and he - Irish by birth, a curious globetrotter who has always loved fashion and imagined luxury in the service of creation.
Floraïku is therefore inspired by Japanese refinement and follows a poetic approach, close to nature. This French perfume house is a journey into the heart of the Japanese imagination, namely in haiku, short poems that attempt to translate the simplest but elusive experiences of life. Floraïku creations are like haiku poems: short, sensual and overwhelming. Each fragrance is built around a chord inspired by a Japanese ceremony.
The delicate rituals of the land of the rising sun are the inspiration of perfumers Alienor Massenet and Sophie Labbé. Their creations for Floraïku are influenced by diverse visions and natural phenomena, embodying a vision inspired by oriental culture. The brand strives to use the highest quality, most natural raw materials possible in their fragrances.
