Quentin Bisch

These two olfactory creations are the result of the genius of perfumer Quentin Bisch, a renowned name on the international stage.

Quentin Bisch is a creator of olfactory emotions, an artist who paints with scents—states of being, memories, and revelations. Coming from the world of theatre, where he was an artistic director, Bisch has transformed his stage sensitivity into the subtle language of perfumery. Each of his creations is a story, a scene vibrating with meaning, where the notes become characters and the composition—a cathartic act. With rare intuition and an avant-garde spirit, he manages to capture, through scent, the complexity of the human condition. His creations for Amouage, especially Existence and Decision, are living proof of this depth and of a vision that turns perfumery into a true art form.

EXISTENCE

The olfactory blend of this fragrance immediately immersed me in a state of profound meditation on life. I felt the fleeting notes of lily of the valley approaching like a flood of uncontrollable thoughts – delicate and fragile at the same time. The scent of frankincense struck me as a remembrance of divine origins and of endless hope, while the rose whispered the miracle of being able to love.

DECISION

Every moment rests on a decision – whether to give up or to move forward.

I began the fragrant delight of the decision with a jolt, a glimmer in my eyes – like the one you have when you see the person you love again. The aromas of cool wood, frankincense, bergamot, juniper berries, and myrrh descended slowly, dispelling darkness and doubt. A warm light emerged, enriched by the glow of Atlas cedarwood. The soft dusting of vanilla enveloped me in a deep perfume of acceptance – and in that moment, I knew I had chosen. Existence and Decision are two olfactory portrayals of life’s moments. They cannot exist without each other – existence is indispensable to decision, and vice versa. I experienced them as two essential fragrances of the human condition, each telling the story of every person’s life – a life perpetually under the sign of questioning and uncertainty, where the decisions we make daily can carry us to the highest peaks of being, or cast us into a shadowy abyss.
